    Robot/Weld Technician

    Location: Evenwood

    ​Job Purpose

    To ensure that all welding operations, to include robotic programming, are executed in accordance with all relevant codes of practices and Company procedures/policies.


    Reports to Weld Shop Technician

    Key Relationships Weld Shop Technician, External Suppliers, Quality, Engineering and Colleagues.

    Key Areas of Job

    Ø Weld Robot programming support – implementation and maintenance of

    welding procedures and specifications in line with ISO 9001, TS 16949 as well
    as Company and customer specific requirements.

    Ø In conjunction with Engineers and Suppliers, support the assembly fixture
    design stage, for all new fixtures.

    Ø Oversee and deliver on-going training and education of weld operatives.

    Ø Carry out all the necessary first off, in process and last off checks
    that are annotated on the job specific control plans.

    Ø Carry out specific weld cell internal audits, inclusive of maintenance
    schedules and housekeeping and reporting of findings and closing out actions.

    Ø Carry out line
    audits on Manual and robotic welding to customer and company weld standards

    Ø Constantly review working practices to identify improvements – CI.

    Ø Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained at all times
    e.g. the wearing of appropriate PPE.

    Ø Raise Purchase Requisition forms, for any spends for additional equipment
    or training needs, or technical validations.

    Key Post Holder Requirements


    Ø City & Guilds Welding (with welding science) qualification

    Ø Weld Inspection 3.0 Level 1

    Ø Cloos Programming Level 1

    Ø Panasonic Programming Level 1

    Ø Panasonic Advanced Programming Level 2

    Ø Previous experience of production welding systems

    Ø Ability to read engineering/welding drawings

    Any other duties as reasonably requested.
