Manufacturing Engineer at Fablink Tank Systems Ltd based at Evenwood, County Durham
Job Purpose
Provide engineering support across the business. Project manage the delivery of new products, including postproduction costing analysis. Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary targets. Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that would benefit from changes and improvements.
Provide engineering support for Operations to achieve Productivity, Quality and H&S targets.

Key Areas of Job
➢ Lead productivity and throughput improvements projects.
➢ Lead Gate 6 reviews through process analysis and reporting. Working closely with Finance, Operations and Commercial teams.
➢ Examine existing and develop new layouts to improve product flow through the business, including stillage and material storage solutions.
➢ Suggest improvements to existing gauging / fixturing that will improve the process without affecting quality. (PPM)
➢ Lead on engineering tasks to support to the NPI process through manufacture to PPAP sign off, including production readiness.
➢ Provide financial justifications for new plant and equipment investment.
➢ Deliver on continuous improvement projects submitted through the T-card system
➢ Provide engineering/technical support to operations management.
➢ Building strong and effective relationships with internal and external customers
➢ Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process.
➢ Stock management & reduction using Lean replenishment techniques.
➢ Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems.
➢ Assisting customers with product design proposals.
➢ Provide management with engineering related reports.
➢ Support the internal audit programme

➢ Knowledge/Use of Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
➢ HND level qualification – Engineering
➢ Engineering based Degree desirable

Effective scrutiny of manufacture costs, physical measurement of process performance and identification of improvement opportunities. Confirmation of actual costs vs estimate and reporting. Develop layouts and workflow solutions.

DESIRABLE
1. Design/CAD
Ability to interrogate CAD models and construct 2D and 3D drawing data. Competent in use of Radan, Solid edge, TOPS nesting and Sigmanest software.
