Job Purpose
To supervise, and support, a team of Production Setters and Operators, to safely produce, quality products, on time in line with the production schedules and in line with productivity targets.
To support, and give leadership and energy to, daily continuous improvement activities using both individual creativity and the company standard continuous improvement tool.
Relationships
Reports to: Production Manager
Responsible for: Specified production area, which may be subject to change based upon business needs
Close Liaison with: The Health & Safety, Quality, Planning, Engineering, Maintenance teams along with the Production teams in other areas
Must have a tight working relationship, aligned to common goals, with the Production Shift Supervisors on the opposite shifts
Key Areas of Job
Ensure all health and safety protocol is followed and safety risks are dealt with before they become an issue, including maintaining a clean and tidy work environment in line with 5S standards

Conducting annual appraisals for the team and supporting them with their development needs and aspirations
Demonstrating role model behaviour that is consistent with words
Ensuring that the Company’s Policies are communicated, understood and adhered to ‐ [e.g. disciplinary, grievance, quality, environmental, health and safety, equality, etc…]
Ensuring that the team have all the tools, and materials, to do their job in line with the standards required
Maintaining, and reacting to, the process performance visual management (KPI’s, metrics, 5S standards, etc……)
Facilitating, and driving, problem solving activities and pulling in support from support services where needed
Key Post Holder Requirements
- Computer literate with experience of all Microsoft office software
- 1 year, or more, of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills
- A “Can-Do” attitude, with a willingness to learn and engage in continuous improvement
- Ability to work with people and lead with respect
- Experience of lean manufacturing techniques
- Experience of metal forming and light to medium fabrications
